COMMUNITY ART PROJECT IN VUOTALO, HELSINKI

A collaboration with poet Harri Hertell, Graphic designer Ilkka Kärkkäinen and producer Salla Fornaro in Helsinki City’s cultural centre Vuotalo in Vuosaari, Helsinki in 2025. The project was a series of experimental ink painting workshops and poetry workshops for 1-2 grade school children from around Helsinki, with the theme migratory birds. The exhibition we built from works created by the children during the creative workshops and works by Hertell, Merz and Kärkkäinen is on show at the Vuotalo gallery until the 12th of June 2025. The exhibition features painting and poetry works from every workshop participant - about 250 children - and posters made using analogue letterpress printing method at so_helsinki studio.
